How to Reheat Corn? 5 Methods
Here I have given you the simple methods to reheat the corn in 5-10 minutes. I test each of these methods and is highly effective for reheating corn. Choose the method that best suits your preferences.
Method 1: Reheating Corn in the Microwave
This method works best if you are planning to reheat one ear of corn one at a time. Reheating corn in the microwave is the quickest and easiest way of doing it. If you have a microwave in your kitchen, you can simply follow the instructions that I have given below.
- Put a cob of corn on a plate that is safe to use in the microwave, then add two tablespoons of water.
- Once you have added water, now cover the plate with a damp paper towel or kitchen towel to keep the corn from drying out.
- Then, adjust the microwave setting high and microwave the corn cob for 20-25 seconds.
- After one side of the corn cob is heated, turn it over and microwave for another 20-25 seconds.
- Gently raise the paper towel or kitchen towel and check for your desired doneness; if needed, microwave for an additional 20 seconds.
- When it is done, decorate the corn according to your desire, and enjoy it.
Method 2: Reheating Corn in the Oven
Reheating corn in the oven stands as another quick and simple method if a microwave is not available in your kitchen. The advantage of using the oven is that it can reheat the corn evenly without turning it over. Here are the step-by-step guidelines to assist you in reheating the corn.
- Start by preheating the oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Then, place a cob of corn, and put it in an aluminium foil.
- After putting it in an aluminium foil, sprinkle a little bit of water on the cob of corn. You can also add your desired seasonings.
- Then, seal the edges of the aluminium foil by twisting it to prevent steam from getting out.
- Then, place it on the rack of the oven, and heat it for 5-7 minutes until the corn is heated evenly.
Method 3: Reheating Corn in an Air Fryer
If you have an air fryer in your kitchen, you can use it to reheat corn. The air fryer is considered a convenient alternative option to an oven and even reheats corn faster. So, if you have an air fryer, try the following steps to reheat corn.
- Set the air fryer temperature to 350°F (177°C).
- Place the corn cob in the air fryer and heat it for 3-4 minutes, or until it is thoroughly heated.
- Bring out your heated corn, and garnish it with various seasonings to finish it.
Method 4: Reheating Corn in Boiling Water
This is the most traditional method of reheating corn. Boiling water allows the corn corb to reheat thoroughly without putting much effort. I love to do this method when I am running short on time.
- Fill a large bowl of water, probably 2/3 of the bowl so that it can fully submerge the corn cob.
- Now, place the bowl on the stove over high-medium heat to reheat for 2-3 minutes.
- Once it’s reheated, remove it from the stove, and pat the corn dry.
- Add your desired seasonings and savor it.
Method 5: Reheating Corn on the Grill
If you are in the mood to do some extra work, you can fire up your grill to reheat corn corb. The corn cob can be reheated alongside the main ingredient that you are cooking. I use this method when I cook something on the grill and pair it with a corn cob for enjoyment.
- Apply oil or butter onto the corn corb using a brush.
- Put the corn cob over a medium-heat grill.
- Rotate each corn cobs every 20-30 seconds using a tong until all sides are warm according to your desire.
- When it is done, season them with your preferred spices.
